“I've been depressed for the longest time. I had nothing to live for. I learned how to help others and to forgive myself for mistakes I've made.” -LaTrena, Buffalo, NY -

Dynamic Presentations

Educators and resource officers have praised assembly time as the most powerful and engaging presentation for students. It does not focus on tragedy but uses Craig’s story to illustrate how pain can be turned into purpose.

Age-appropriate content for students

Presentation will make them laugh, cry, play games, and connect. Despite addressing a heavy topic, the presentation also includes many lighthearted moments. These moments give the audience a chance to reflect on positive ways to impact their community.

Life lessons taught

Important life skills are covered in the presentation, such as emotional resilience, finding positivity in any situation, transforming negative emotions into positive ones, letting go of the past, living in the present moment, and not worrying about the future.

Call to action

Students are encouraged by Craig to believe in their own self-worth and the value of others, choose positive influences, stay connected, show compassion, and learn to forgive themselves and others.

Meet and greet

Craig takes the time to connect with his audience on a personal level after the events.

“Everyone has a battle that they are fighting that you may know nothing about.”

“This is not just “a speech”, it is the start for change in your community.” - S. East

One Hour Student Leadership Training and Life Choices Club Start Up

For lasting impact, it is crucial to establish a student-led club after the assembly. Hundreds of these clubs exist today!

During training, and with the support of a sponsoring teacher, students identify important issues in their school and unofficially start the "Life Choices Club.”

The Emotional Resilience Curriculum empowers students with effective communication skills, which are crucial for lasting change.

Lessons do not have to be followed in sequence, but it is recommended to hold sessions weekly to help build and maintain respectful dialogue.

A digital copy of the curriculum is provided to school administration and can be used as stand-alone lessons or supplemental material.

The curriculum was first developed over 15 years ago and has since undergone continuous improvement. It is highly appreciated by educators and students alike for its promotion of sound psychological and mental health practices.

Twenty lessons cover important topics such as respect, self-worth, empathy, loneliness, failure, anger management, racism, and more.

Lessons can be utilized by any teacher or student-led clubs within the school and serves as a powerful tool to sustain the efforts in establishing a Culture of Kindness in the school.
